“Imam Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyya:

Descriptions of Paradise – sifat al-janna

***

Imam al-Hafiz Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyya Describes Paradise (janna) as in Hadi al-Arwah follows:

The Meeting Of The Angels At The Times Of Fajr And `Asr Prayers

The Meeting Of The Angels At The Times Of Fajr And `Asr Prayers

(Verily the recitation of the Qur’an in the early down is ever witnessed.) Ibn Mas`ud reported from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet said concerning this Ayah :

(and recite the Qur’an in the early dawn. Verily, the recitation of the Qur’an in the early dawn is ever witnessed.)

(It is witnessed by the angels of the night and the angels of the day.) Al-Bukhãri narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet said:

(The prayer offered in congregation is twenty-five degrees better than the prayer offered individually, and the angels of the night and the angels of the day meet at Salat Al-Fajr.) Abu Hurayrah said: Recite, if you wish:

(and recite the Qur’an in the early dawn. Verily, the recitation of the Qur’an in the early dawn is ever witnessed.) Imam Ahmad recorded from Ibn Mas`ud and Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet said, concerning the Ayah:

(and recite the Qur’an in the early dawn. Verily, the recitation of the Qur’an in the early dawn is ever witnessed.)

(It is witnessed by the angels of the night and the angels of the day.) This was recorded by At-Tirmidhi, An-Nasa’i, and Ibn Majah. At-Tirmidhi said, “It is Hasan Sahih.” According to the version recorded in the Two Sahihs from Abu Hurayrah, the Prophet said:

(The angels of the night and the angels of the day come amongst you in successive groups (in shifts). They meet at the Morning prayer (Fajr) and at the Mid-afternoon prayer (‘Asr). Those who stayed among you at ascend, and their Lord asks them, although He knows best about you, “How did you leave My servants” They say, “We came to them when they were praying and we left them when they were praying.”) `Abdullah bin Mas`ud said, “The two guards meet at Salat Al-Fajr, and one group ascends while the other stays where it is. ” These were the comments of Ibrahim An-Nakha`i, Mujahid, Qatadah and others on the Tafsir of this Ayah.

Oh my children Wallahi if ilm could be poured

Oh my children Wallahi if ilm could be poured into a glass i would pour it for you but its gained by hard exhaustion and scraping of the knees! “Shaykh Muqbil (raheemahullah)”

Al-Fawâ’id: Points of Benefit By Imâm Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah “Six Etiquettes of Learning” Ibn al-Qayyim (raheemahullah) said: There are six stages to knowledge: 1. Asking questions in a good manner. 2.Remaining quiet and listening attentively. 3. Understanding well. 4. Memorising. 5.Teaching. 6. and it is its fruit: Acting upon the knowledge and keeping to its limits.

Question: Am I qualified to call to the Salafee ‘aqeedah if I have attained an excellent mark in a course offered by a da’wah office? Answer: This (being truly qualified) does not happen except by way of knowledge. If you know the correct ‘aqeedah and have a complete understanding of it, then you have attained knowledge of it. But it is not sufficient for you to have an excellent (academic) mark without understanding ‘aqeedah. How many times has someone got mumtaaz (excellent grades) with the highest honors but he has no understanding! ? And how many times has someone with only passing grades attained true knowledge and understanding! ? It is not about certificates of achievement; it is about having knowledge and a true understanding of it. Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (hafidhullah) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “O Messenger of Allah! It is part of the Mercy of Allah that you deal politely and gently with them. Were you severe, uncivil or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from you: so pass over their faults, and ask for Allah’s forgiveness for them. (Quran, 3:159) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Indeed the Emaan worns out in the heart of one of you just as the garment (clothe) worns out, so ask Allah to renew the Emaan in Your Heart. [1585 from Silsilat as-saheeh of Shaykh Albanee ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Complete Man from Sayings of the Salaf by Abû Abdillâh Owais Al-Hâshimi Imâm Al-Buwaytî Allâh have mercy on him reports: I heard Al-Shâfiâ say,A man does not become complete in this life except when he has four [qualities]: religiousness (al-diyânah), trustworthiness (al-amânah), safeguarding [from sin] (al-siyânah) and sobriety (al-razânah).Al-Bayhaqî, Manâqib Al-Shâfiâ 2:189. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hasbunallaahu wa ni’amal-wakeel ~ Allah is sufficent for us and the best of those on whom to depend
